In what is believed to be one of the biggest commercial leasing deals in Orange County this year, Fireman’s Fund Insurance Co. signed a 10-year lease on 150,000 square feet of space in Irvine for $22 million, the leasing company said Monday.
The build-to-suit structure, under construction at a 9.5-acre site at Jamboree Road and Walnut Avenue, is expected to open next June.
Fireman’s Fund will move 400 employees from its regional office in Tustin, a building it has occupied for 20 years.
The project’s developer, Opus Southwest Corp., acquired the Irvine parcel for about $8 million. Both Fireman’s Fund and Opus were represented by Bill Lee, founder of Lee & Associates Commercial Real Estate Services.
