PRISTINA, Yugoslavia — Kosovo Albanian rebels are suspected of killing four Serbs, including a police officer on an evening patrol in northern Kosovo, Serbian sources said Thursday.
The police officer was shot in his car Wednesday while patrolling in a contested area 20 miles north of Pristina, the provincial capital.
In a separate attack, ethnic Albanian rebels are suspected of fatally shooting two Serbian brothers Wednesday on a road about 15 miles northwest of Pristina, the Serbian Media Center said.
A Yugoslav army officer also was killed in fighting Wednesday.
Scattered violence in the Serbian province, where ethnic Albanians form a strong majority and demand independence, has continued while Serbs and ethnic Albanians consider a peace deal arranged last month in Rambouillet, France.
