Chaminade 12, Franklin 0-- Jason Urquidez gave up one hit, struck out eight and walked one in four innings for the Eagles (1-0) in a game called after 4 1/2 innings because of the 10-run rule.
Spencer Gordon had two hits, including a three-run home run, and four RBIs for Chaminade.
El Camino Real 18, Quartz Hill 8--Ryan Gunches drove in four runs with four hits, including two doubles, for the Conquistadores (2-0) in a game that was called after six innings because of the 10-run rule at El Camino Real.
Granada Hills 6, Highland 5--Dan Frisbee hit a two-out, two-run single in the seventh to lift the Highlanders (2-0) at Granada Hills.
Peter Gunny struck out four in two innings of shutout relief.
Paraclete 8, Cleveland 0--Matt Parris pitched a two-hitter, struck out 13, scored a run and drove in another for the Spirits (1-0) at Cleveland (1-1).
In the El Segundo tournament:
Burbank 4, Long Beach Jordan 3--Jon McGinley allowed three hits and struck out 18 over eight innings and the Bulldogs (0-1) pulled out the victory at Burbank.
Mitch Selco’s single scored Chris Hamilton with the winning run in the bottom of the eighth.
Crespi 10, Westminster 0--Sophomore Jonathon Oller had a double, triple and three RBIs, and Joel Garcia drove in two runs for the Celts (1-0) at Valley College.
Tim Leveque, Mission League pitcher of the year last season, pitched a two-hitter with seven strikeouts and two walks.
Agoura 8, Carson 3--Sophomore Chris Denove hit a solo home run in the third inning and a three-run homer in a six-run fifth inning for the Chargers at Agoura.
Brian Jacobsen added a two-run home run.
In the Westside tournament:
Saugus 10, Sylmar 5--Rick Pistone hit a grand slam in the first inning off All-City pitcher Ivan Hernandez and added a leadoff shot in the third for the Centurions (1-0) in an upset over Sylmar at Saugus.
Wes Travis added three hits, including a solo homer in the fourth inning, Justin Babin hit a two-run homer in the second inning and Jeff Mayberry had a two-run shot in the fifth.
Camarillo 13, Bishop Montgomery 0--Garrett Valencia pitched a no-hitter with seven strikeouts and one walk for the Scorpions in a five-inning victory at Bishop Montgomery.
Valencia had two hits and two RBIs.
Mark Hensley had three hits and drove in three runs for Camarillo.
Newbury Park 5, Channel Islands 0--Ryan Ayers and Tyler Johnson combined on a one-hitter and Ayers hit a two-run home run for the Panthers (1-0) at Newbury Park.
Jared Buckley had three hits, including a run-scoring double in the second inning and a solo homer in the fourth, for Newbury Park.
Chatsworth 13, Palisades 1--Jason Spector hit a grand slam and Mike Kunes pitched a four-hitter and struck out six for the Chancellors (1-0) at Palisades.
Taft 3, Moorpark 2--Justin Wade pitched a three-hitter, struck out 13 and scored the winning run on a double steal in the third for the Toreadors (1-0).
