O’Hara, a center from Irvine High, helped Irvine Valley advance to the state tournament. She scored 15 points and got 10 rebounds in an 81-60 victory over Southwestern, then scored nine points and got 13 rebounds in a 57-51 victory over Los Angeles Harbor.

Track and Field
Vandovec, from Fountain Valley High, vaulted to the head of the class Friday in Southern California. He cleared 15 feet 8 inches to win the pole vault in a tri-meet against Cuyamaca and Santa Ana. It was the top mark in Southern California this season.
