VAN NUYS — A 35-year-old woman was fatally injured Tuesday night after she lost control of her car and it flipped over on the southbound San Diego Freeway, a Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman said.
The accident occurred at 8 p.m. as the woman approached the Victory Boulevard offramp, said Fire Department spokesman Brian Humphrey.
“The car left the roadway and rolled down an embankment,” Humphrey said. “She was pinned in the wreckage and by the time firefighters got to her, she was dead.”
The victim’s identity was not immediately released. No one else was hurt in the wreck, which is being investigated by the California Highway Patrol.
