The City Council last week decided against hiring a grant coordinator. Councilwoman Ann M. Snider had suggested hiring a grant coordinator to seek out additional funding for the city. But Councilwoman Brenda B. Ross, echoing her previous comments when voting against the creation of a planning agency, suggested the city first establish a game plan and then consider seeking grants. The city has yet to implement an operating budget, she added. The council unanimously agreed and asked that City Manager Leslie Keane look into other options.
