Aspiring writers can capture their life stories on paper through a memoir-writing course being offered next month by the Recreation and Park District. The free six-week course will be taught by Bill Thomas, author of “My Life Journal,” a self-development manual for children, and other short stories and personal essays. Thomas will teach writers how to organize their notes, photographs and letters and use them effectively to tell their life stories. The classes meet from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Fridays, beginning June 4, at the Cypress Senior Center, 9031 Grindlay St. Registration is limited. Information: (562) 431-7795.
