City May Buy Building for Job-Training Site
- Share via
The Los Angeles City Council voted Wednesday to study the feasibility of buying a building in Pacoima and converting it into a job-training and placement center for young people.
Councilman Alex Padilla, who represents the area, sought the action to make up for Pacoima being left out of a federal grant application for job training programs.
Padilla has identified a building at 13003 Van Nuys Blvd.
The council asked the city’s Community Development Department on Wednesday to identify funding that could be used to buy and convert the structure for job training.
