With a Mug Like That . . .

How’d you like to wake up to Linda Tripp every morning? Now, you can . . . and get a warm feeling inside, to boot.
But, you’re probably thinking, Linda is so busy suing the White House and the Pentagon for invading her privacy, how on Earth would she find time for me? Over morning coffee, that’s how.
Venice guerrilla artist Robbie Conal is marketing Linda Tripp coffee mugs or “Muglies,” as he calls them. The 15-ounce white coffee cup is adorned with Linda’s memorable face and her famous, heartfelt statement, “I am you.”
Linda is one of four inside-the-Beltway folks featured in Conal’s “National Embarrassment Commemorative Muglies.” Along with her, Conal also has portrayed President Clinton, prosecutor Kenneth Starr and, of course, Monica Lewinsky.
Conal, who sells the mugs on his Web site (https://www.robbie conal.com) describes his work this way: “It is not rocket science. I simply try to irritate the powers that be as much as possible without having them squash me like the bug that I am.”
For the full, irritating effect, you can order a Monica mug, put it face to face with Linda, then turn on Geoffrey Giuliano’s edited version of “The Tripp/Lewinsky Tapes,” available at major bookstores for around $12. Now, you’ve got a fun and educational way to start your morning.
However, if you decide to drink alone with Linda, and are prone to talking to yourself, be assured that whatever you say will be held in the strictest confidence. Don’t worry for a minute that your ramblings will be tape-recorded, broadcast in the media and then used to impeach a president.
Come on, doesn’t she have a face you can trust?
