Rocketing soda-pop bottles demonstrate Newton’s Laws of Motion at Vessels Elementary School at 9 a.m. Thursday. Under the direction of teacher Bill “Captain Vessels” Carson, third-grade students at the school will be capping their science course on the solar system by launching their homemade rockets. Recycled 2-liter plastic bottles, partially filled with water, will be injected with air and released, sending the projectiles skyward.
