* On behalf of the Bicycle Club of Irvine, I would like to express our thanks for the wonderful article about our club that you published recently in your Orange County edition. Our members read it with interest, and I heard many of them express delight at seeing their club described in a major newspaper. Naturally, we hope that it will prompt more people to discover the many benefits of bicycling we have come to know.
We also hope it will increase the public’s awareness of the sport. The U.S. postal team’s recent victory in the Tour de France was inspiring to those of us who ride, but, unfortunately, it received too little attention from the general public.
