Brooks’ ‘Gaines’ Debut Misses on Two Fronts
- Share via
Garth Brooks ended up a two-time loser this week. His pop album in the guise of fictional singer Chris Gaines was blocked out of the No. 1 spot on the national sales chart by hard-rock band Creed, and in the Southern California market by the rap super-duo Method Man & Redman. Sting and Marc Anthony also debuted in the local Top 10, where spots were quickly vacated by Nine Inch Nails, Tori Amos, Chris Cornell and Barbra Streisand.
