Simi Valley Hospital will host a free “Women’s Health Awareness Day” on Sunday for women to learn about lowering their risk of breast cancer.
Information about treatment alternatives, early detection methods and screening guidelines will be offered, along with the latest in fitness pointers and makeup and fashion advice. Free neck and hand massages will also be available.
Breast cancer is the leading cause of death among women in the U.S. between the ages of 34 and 54.
After the age of 40, a clinical breast exam and mammogram are recommended annually.
To make a reservation for the event, call Simi Valley Hospital’s Ask-a-Nurse at 583-8971.
