Eighty-nine-year-old Elsie Porter, who has lived in Orange all her life, decided having only one clock on the west side of Chapman University’s School of Law clock tower wasn’t enough and has donated $42,000 to add two clock faces on the 90-foot structure.
Porter said people should be able to see the time on Pralle Tower from the north and south while driving on Glassell Street.
“It just seemed obvious to me that the beautiful tower at the new law school needed clock faces that could be seen by travelers on North Glassell Street,” Porter said.
The project should be completed by year’s end.
