Cypress’ Nunez Scores Three Goals in Victory

Freshman forward Alie Nunez scored three goals Friday, leading Cypress to a 6-0 victory over visiting Fullerton in an Orange Empire Conference women’s soccer game.
Nunez has scored 11 goals in the last three games, bringing her season total to 20. Jane Specht , Kristen Holstrom and Teri Hermen also scored for the Chargers (12-0, 1-0). Fullerton is 2-8, 0-1.
In another conference game:
Santa Ana 2, Orange Coast 2--Taylor Yurada tied the score in the last minute for Orange Coast (2-6-2, 0-0-1). Ana Velazquez and Melanie Fluts scored for Santa Ana (8-0-3, 0-0-1). Meredith Lake scored first for Orange Coast.
In Orange Empire Conference men’s soccer:
Fullerton 2, Cypress 1--Fullerton took a 2-0 lead in the second half on a goal by Milton Guadron off an assist by Juancarlos Velasquez. Cypress’ Adriano Lima scored in the 87th minute. Orlando Palmer had 11 saves for Fullerton (8-2, 1-0). Cypress drops to 1-5, 0-1.
Santa Ana 4, Orange Coast 1--Tomas Serna scored twice for undefeated Santa Ana (10-0, 1-0). Jose Retiz scored two minutes into the game and Robert Corona capped the Dons’ scoring from 18 yards out.
Mike Carvin scored for Orange Coast (1-7-1, 0-1).
In nonconference women’s volleyball:
Orange Coast 3, Mt. San Antonio 0--Beth Waterman had nine kills and Susie Packard contributed eight for host Orange Coast (3-3), which won, 15-9, 15-5, 15-9.
