While Michael Washington of Paraclete and Jermaine Marshall of Kilpatrick received much of the early season hype as the Alpha League’s top backs, Lord Cole of L.A. Baptist is emerging as well.
The 5-foot-10, 175-pound junior might not have the size of the featured backs at the rival schools, but he has gained more than 200 all-purpose yards in each of his first two games. “He’s a poor man’s Michael Washington,” Coach Mark Bates said.
