St. Francis 40, Norwalk 7--The host Golden Knights needed only seven plays to score their first three touchdowns and added touchdowns in their final two first-half possessions to take a 34-0 halftime lead.
Benny Yun set up the first touchdown for St. Francis (3-0), blocking Hector Ortiz’ punt. Matt Milton ran five yards for a touchdown on the next play.
The Golden Knights, ranked No. 5 in the region, forced Norwalk (1-2) to punt after three plays on the following possession. After beginning the drive with two incomplete passes, John Sciarra hit Brett Mitchell with a 10-yard pass, putting the ball on the Lancers’ 14-yard line. Milton ran 13 to the one and scored on the next play.
Sciarra, who completed eight of 14 passes for 207 yards and two touchdowns with one interception, all in the first half, threw a 43-yard touchdown pass to Mitchell on the first play of the next drive.
St. Francis scored next on Jimmy Knauf’s 22-yard touchdown run, one play after he caught a 17-yard pass from Sciarra.
