Wofa is a 10-member drumming ensemble from Guinea, and you can catch the troupe in action Friday in the next installment of the Performances to Grow On series at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza. The musicians perform on traditional instruments and include acrobatic dancing in their performance.

Family Theater
Camarillo Community Theater will continue its children’s programming series Saturday with “The Boy Who Had No Story.” Doors open 20 minutes before show time, and guests will get to meet and be ushered in by the characters from the play. All ages are invited to participate in a pre-show warmup hosted by Pinki the Clown.

Versatile Guitar
Ojai’s own Alan Thornhill, the well-regarded guitarist, will perform Saturday at Happy Valley School’s Zalk Theater. Thornhill will present works from his new CD, “Sittin’ Out the Rain.” Joining Thornhill will be guitarists Jim Monahan and Lee Rollag, bassist Bill Bryson and drummer Bob Nichols.

Worthy Art
Ventura College will host its annual Student Awards Exhibition beginning Tuesday with an opening reception from 7 to 9 p.m. The wide array of works will be displayed at the campus Gallery 2 and New Media Gallery.
