Bank One’s Chief Financial Officer Resigns

Bank One Corp. said Robert Rosholt will resign as chief financial officer, making him the first officer to leave the nation’s fourth-largest bank since James Dimon was named chairman and chief executive last month. Rosholt, 50, who has been chief financial officer at Bank One and its predecessors since 1993, will leave May 1, the company said. In the last year, most of the top officers have left Bank One, including Chief Executive John McCoy, who retired in December amid problems with the company’s credit card unit that slashed earnings and caused the stock to plummet. He was succeeded by Dimon, formerly president of Citigroup. The company said it has begun a search for Rosholt’s replacement and will consider both internal and external candidates. Shares of Chicago-based Bank One closed up 69 cents at $31.44 on the NYSE.
