A police SWAT team surrounded a Chatsworth home where an armed man involved in a domestic dispute had refused to surrender by late Thursday night, police said.
The standoff began at 6:45 p.m. in the 22300 block of Devonshire Street, said Officer Ed Funes, a Los Angeles Police Department spokesman.
A woman believed to be the man’s wife called police to the scene, said Sgt. Steve Savala of the LAPD’s Devonshire Division. The woman, who had left the house, was unharmed and the man was not thought to be holding any hostages, Savala said.
