Calabasas Gets Even With Hart

Justin Ohye shot a two-under-par 70 to help Calabasas High earn a tie with Hart in a nonleague golf match Thursday at Calabasas Country Club.
Peter Heilbron, Aaron Levine and Jared Tarlow each birdied the 435-yard, par-five 18th hole to help get the Coyotes even, 392-392.
In the tiebreaker, the sixth-place finishers--Dusty Gale of Calabasas and Lain Boyer of Hart--each shot 85 so the match was declared a tie.
Josh Vanek eagled the five 18th hole and shot 78 for Hart (27-6-1).
Ohye had six birdies for Calabasas (10-1-1), which beat Servite, 389-390, Wednesday.
Camarillo 385, Oxnard 406--Kyle Dowden and Chris Briney of Camarillo (18-0, 8-0) were co-medalists at 75 in a Pacific View League match at River Ridge Country Club.
BOYS’ VOLLEYBALL
Chaminade def. Harvard-Westlake, 15-5, 15-9, 15-6--Adam Hickerson had 15 kills for the Eagles in a Mission League victory at Chaminade.
Paul Jocas had 35 assists for Chaminade (13-2, 8-2), ranked No. 6 in the region by The Times.
Canyon def. Valencia, 15-11, 15-12, 13-15, 15-7--Gideon Gibson had 19 kills for the Cowboys (8-2, 5-0) in a Foothill League victory at Canyon.
GIRLS’ TRACK
Buena 64, Ventura 63--Margaret Boehme had two firsts and two seconds, but Cathy Dunne’s third-place finish in the 1,600 meters that clinched the Channel League title for the Bulldogs at Ventura.
Shelaine Larson won the shotput at 37-10 3/4 and the discus at 127-11 for Buena.
BOYS’ TRACK
Ventura 81, Buena 46--Preston Biller won three events and ran on the winning 400-meter relay team, and Clark Goodwin won two events and anchored both victorious relay teams as the Cougars (5-3, 4-0) clinched the Channel League title at Ventura.
