Chatsworth Is Sure Thing in Las Vegas Tournament

Chatsworth High struck it big in Las Vegas.
The Chancellors won twice Saturday, finishing with a 4-0 record at the Bishop Gorman baseball tournament.
In their first game of the day, the Chancellors defeated Pleasant Grove (Utah), 15-9.
Chatsworth (17-1-1), ranked No. 2 in the region by The Times, also defeated San Fernando, 7-4.
Matt Fisher had three hits and six runs batted in against Pleasant Grove.
Fisher hit a two-run double in the fourth inning and a two-run triple in the fifth.
Brian Levinson hit a two-run home run in the first inning, his third of the season.
Against San Fernando, Jacob Ball hit a three-run triple in the first inning.
Fisher had two hits and scored a run.
Manny Flores of San Fernando struck out 10 but allowed seven runs.
In other games:
Las Vegas Chaparral 11, Sylmar 9--Chaparral scored six runs in the bottom of the sixth to overcome a four-run deficit in a Bishop Gorman tournament game halted after six innings because of a time limit.
Eddie Camacho hit a solo home run in the sixth to spark a four-run rally by Sylmar, which took a 9-5 lead.
Brian Tabura had two RBIs for Sylmar (12-7).
Highland 7, North Hollywood 4--Daniel Champieux had three hits, including a home run and double, and five RBIs for the Bulldogs, who finished 4-0, in a Bishop Gorman tournament game at Western High.
Kennedy 7, El Dorado High 3--Adam Geery pitched a five-hitter and hit a two-run double in the seventh for the Golden Cougars (13-9) in a Bishop Gorman tournament game at El Dorado High.
Geery added a run-scoring double in the fifth.
Geery hit a run-scoring double in the seventh, but Kennedy lost to San Diego Bishop, 3-2.
Poly 10, Bishop 8--George Carrera’s two-out, run-scoring single in the sixth gave the Parrots a Bishop Gorman tournament victory at El Dorado High.
John Wheeler had two RBIs for Poly (16-4).
Chaminade 6, Las Vegas Bonanza 5--Erik Johnson hit a run-scoring single in the eighth to give the Eagles a victory in the Bishop Gorman tournament at Bonanza High.
R.T. Girch doubled in the eighth and scored on Johnson’s single.
Ryan Soroka hit a three-run double in the third for Chaminade (15-5).
Johnson had two singles and an RBI double in an 8-5 victory over Burroughs.
El Camino Real 18, Las Vegas Cimarron Memorial 6--Christian Hariot had two doubles, a home run and four RBIs for the Conquistadores in a Bishop Gorman tournament game at Cimarron Memorial (17-2).
The game was called after six innings because of the 10-run rule.
Mike Leduc hit a three-run home run in the sixth inning and had four RBIs for El Camino Real (15-4), ranked No. 3 in the region.
Granada Hills 18, Las Vegas Rancho 7--Mike Seiser hit one of three doubles by the Highlanders in a Bishop Gorman tournament game at Rancho High.
The game was called after five innings because of the 10-run rule.
Newbury Park 12, West Covina 3--Jared Buckley had two hits, including a two-run double, for the Panthers in a Don Lugo tournament game at Ayala High that was called after six innings because of a time limit.
Matt Valenzuela hit a two-run home run for Newbury Park (7-12) and David Hicks and Joey Hamer each had three hits and one RBI.
Tyler T. Smith (3-3) and Greg Webb combined on a four-hitter. Smith allowed three runs on four hits in five innings.
Monroe 8, Garfield 0--Rafael Arroyo had three singles and an RBI in the Redondo tournament at Monroe (8-12).
