Ralph Nader, the Green Party candidate for president, will speak at Ventura College at 8 p.m. on Tuesday.
Nader gained national attention with his 1965 book “Unsafe at Any Speed,” a scathing critique of safety standards in the automobile industry.
He is credited with initiating reform for a number of consumer causes, including freedom of information and safe drinking water.
Nader’s vice presidential running mate is Winona Laduke, the first Native American to run on a national ticket.
The speech will be held free in the campus gym.
