Space Station Will Be Visible to Naked Eye
- Share via
With its new electricity-generating solar panels fully deployed, the International Space Station is now visible to the naked eye. The station will make its first visible pass over Southern California this evening about 6 p.m.
People who want to view the station should look to the southern skies. Weather permitting, the station will appear as a bright star, moving from west to east, 10 to 20 degrees above the horizon.
As construction continues and new elements are added, the station is expected to become one of the brighter objects in the sky.
