Authorities are looking for a gunman who sexually assaulted four South-Central Los Angeles girls on their way home from the movies early Sunday morning, police said.
The girls, ages 9 to 16, told investigators they were near 39th Street and Vermont Avenue about 12:50 a.m. when they were approached by a man holding a gun. The man forced the four to a nearby location where he sexually assaulted them while holding a handgun on them, officers said.
The girls reported the incident when they returned to the home of a grandmother, who called police. The four were taken to a hospital, where they received medical attention.
Detectives described the gunman as a black man about 18 to 22 years of age, about 5 feet, 8 inches tall, and weighing about 160 pounds.
Anyone with information about the incident can reach detectives at (213) 485-2921.
