Eastern Michigan Gets Fullerton’s Crooks

Fullerton College quarterback Jeff Crooks will continue his football career at Eastern Michigan.
Crooks, who earned All-Mission Conference honors this season as a sophomore, was expected to sign Friday with the Eagles, who play in the Mid-American Conference.
Crooks, who played at Cypress High, broke a 45-year-old school record for total offense this season with 2,343 yards, including 504 yards rushing. He passed for 18 touchdowns and rushed for three for the 4-6 Hornets.
* Aric Galliano, a first-team All-Mission Conference offensive lineman at Cerritos College, has committed to play football at Utah State, his father, Mark, said. Galliano, from Foothill High, was a two-year starter at Cerritos, where he helped the team win two Strawberry Bowl championships.
* Brethren Christian quarterback Kyle Painter has committed to play football at Division I-AA Liberty University in Lynchburg, Va., Warrior Coach Bruce Eien said.
Painter completed 49% of his passes this season for 2,052 yards, with 14 touchdowns.
