Huntington Beach 62, Mater Dei 30--Amy Sanders had 26 points, 17 rebounds and eight assists for Huntington Beach (6-4), which plays San Clemente Thursday.
Irvine 57, Riverside North 50--Jody Carlson scored 25 points for the county’s sixth-ranked team, which faces No. 5 Rosary Thursday. Staci Morita scored 14 points and Kristin Thawley had 10 rebounds for Irvine (8-3).
In the first round of the Marina Holiday Classic:
Capistrano Valley 41, South Torrance 35--Lindsay Peloza was nine of 12 from the free-throw line, finishing with 17 points for the Cougars, who face Santa Margarita in tonight’s second round.
El Dorado 50, Pacifica 41--Melissa Jacob scored 16 points for the Golden Hawks (10-2), who led, 25-9, at halftime. Marissa Ishii scored 13 points for Pacifica (5-5).
No. 9 Santa Margarita 63, Estancia 56--Meghan Moen scored 21 points for the Eagles (9-2). Tricia Nase scored 17 points for Estancia (7-5).
