A 19-year-old man was shot to death near Sepulveda Boulevard in an area known for narcotics and gang activity, police said Wednesday.
Leonardo Tadeo was pronounced dead Tuesday night at Mission Community Hospital in Van Nuys after being shot several times in the upper body, said Lt. Tim Moss of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Devonshire Division.
When police arrived at the 15200 block of Acre Street about 9:40 p.m., they could not find a victim, Moss said. Minutes later, they received a second report of a shooting victim at the hospital’s emergency room.
Witnesses told police someone drove Tadeo to the hospital after he crawled to his car, Moss said. They also said two males ran from the scene after the shooting.
