Tensions between the city and its police force may heat up because of a 4-month-old contract negotiation that reached an impasse about a month ago. The contract was discussed in closed session at Tuesday’s City Council meeting, but no decision was made. Although city officials stress their willingness to support the police force, Glenn Fuller, president of the police officers association said Wednesday that the amicable relationship between the parties could turn sour if the officers’ most recent contract offer to the city falls on deaf ears.
