SHERMAN OAKS — A man drove his car into a resident’s yard after going over an embankment on Sepulveda Boulevard Friday morning, Los Angeles police said.
Mohammad Naghavi, 68, of Beverly Hills suffered minor injuries and a concussion, said Officer Ryan Lorey of Valley Traffic Division. Naghavi was taken to UCLA Medical Center, where he was treated and released, police said.
Naghavi was driving north on Sepulveda when he knocked over a fence and tree just north of Dartford Way about 9:30 a.m., Lorey said. The car came to rest on the driver’s side against two trees.
Naghavi said he was having trouble with the brakes before the crash, Lorey said. Firefighters took about 15 minutes to pry the man out of the car, authorities said.
Abrahami Dalia said she was in her bedroom when she heard the car crash through her yard. “It was very scary. I thought it was an earthquake,” said Dalia.
