Adults Only

I am more than a little upset at Riita Speer’s letter (“R-Rated Anger,” Jan. 30) regarding her objections to an R-rated movie being shown on a British Airways flight on which her children were passengers.
As a child, my life was constantly censored. Is my life as an adult to be censored as well because of those people who have children? I have chosen not to have children.
I have seen many good films edited for content on the airlines because of someone’s archaic perception of decency; therefore, I no longer purchase a headset on domestic flights.
What about my rights as an adult, Ms. Speer? The great majority of people who travel overseas are adults. If you choose to take your children along, do so with the realization that they will be treated by adult standards.
