Police identified a suspect Friday in the fatal shooting of a Canoga Park father of six last weekend.
The suspect, Lamar Julius Singleton, 39, allegedly shot 42-year-old Leonardo Gomez-Perez during a Feb. 6 crime rampage that included two robberies, police said.
Los Angeles Police Lt. Mike Schneider described Singleton, whose address is unknown, as a bald African American who is 5 feet, 10 inches tall and weighs 200 pounds. He may have a mustache and goatee, Schneider said.
Singleton allegedly robbed a customer at gunpoint in a Winnetka 7-Eleven shortly before the 10 p.m. shooting, which occurred outside a small shopping center at Roscoe Boulevard and De Soto Avenue, police said. About three hours later, he robbed another 7-Eleven, this time in Canoga Park, detectives said.
Police have asked anyone with information about the crimes to call the Devonshire Division at (818) 756-8291, or 756-8285 at night and on weekends.
