Two Frustrated Catchers Transfer

Two high school baseball players have transferred after failing to become starting catchers at their previous schools.
John Voita, a senior who was expected to start at third base for City Section title favorite El Camino Real, has transferred to Granada Hills.
Voita signed with Cal State Northridge last fall and wanted to play catcher, his projected college position, but El Camino Real has a two-year starter in Mike Leduc.
Also transferring this week was junior catcher Andrew Strickland, who attended Chatsworth as a freshman, transferred to Cleveland as a sophomore, transferred back to Chatsworth last semester but has now returned to Cleveland.
Danny Dominguez, who played on the Chatsworth junior varsity team last season, is the Chancellors’ starting catcher.
Voita and Strickland will be eligible to play this season provided they have changed residences.
