CKE Restaurants Inc., which operates the Carl’s Jr. chain and other eateries, said Thursday that W. Howard Lester has resigned as a director.
Lester, chairman and chief executive of Williams-Sonoma Inc., is nearing 65 and is scaling back some of his outside business affiliations, the Anaheim company said in a document filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
Lester, who was appointed to CKE’s board in January 1996, also has been a director of the Good Guys Inc., Harold’s Stores Inc. and Il Fornaio America Inc. He left CKE’s board Dec. 28. His term expires this year. The company did not disclose any information about a possible replacement.
