The county will host an El Toro town hall meeting on Monday to discuss its plan to develop a commercial airport at the former Marine base.
The government’s goal in the series of meetings, to be held throughout the county, is to present the facts concerning the project, said John Christensen, coordinator for the county’s El Toro Master Development Program.
The discussion will include the history of the Airport System Master Plan and the possible economic effect the airport will have locally. Handouts concerning the master plan and the environmental impact report, which was released Dec. 23, will be distributed.
The event begins at 11:30 a.m. at the Community Center Auditorium, 100 N. Calle Seville. Information: (949) 834-5376.
