The City Council approved at its meeting Tuesday an ordinance making it illegal for unauthorized people to dump waste in commercial dumpsters.
According to staff recommendations, the ordinance has become necessary because landscapers, contractors, repair people and trade people have been dumping solid waste in dumpsters designated for use by only certain commercial lots and businesses.
The ordinance will go into effect Feb. 3.
