A local 18-year-old high school student admitted to stealing six political signs from different parts of the city, police said Wednesday.
Police received a call around 2 p.m. Tuesday that a young man grabbed a “Recall Mayor John Gullixson” sign posted in the 4800 block of Main Street, and drove away in a truck or sport utility vehicle, said Capt. Jim Winder of the Brea Police Department, which serves Yorba Linda.
Police followed up on the complaint based on the vehicle’s license plate number and found six stolen signs in the student’s house, Winder said. Officials will not release the teenager’s name because an arrest was not made, he said.
