Beach Volleyball Tour Opens in May

The Beach Volleyball America women’s professional beach volleyball tour announced its inaugural schedule for the 2000 season Wednesday.
It will consist of seven tournaments, all in California, starting in mid-May and running through late August. Teams will compete for a total of $525,000 in prize money.
Holly McPeak, Misty May, Gabrielle Reece, Annett Davis, Jenny Johnson-Jordan, Liz Masakayan and Elaine Youngs are among the players expected to compete.
Tentative tournament sites and dates are May 13-14 at Oceanside, May 20-21 at Santa Monica, June 3-4 at Santa Barbara, June 10-11 at Hermosa Beach, July 1-2 or 8-9 at a site to be determined, Aug. 12-13 at Pismo Beach and Aug. 26-27 at San Diego.
