GRANADA HILLS — A domestic dispute escalated into a 6 1/2-hour standoff early Thursday after a barricaded man shot at police before surrendering. No one was injured.
Officers found Frank Martinez, 52, inside his home in the 16800 block of Pineridge Drive at 10:30 p.m. Wednesday when they responded to a domestic violence call, police said.
After the man’s wife ran out with a rifle to join the police, Martinez fired once at officers with a semiautomatic weapon before SWAT team members sprayed tear gas into the house, police said. Martinez gave up about 5 a.m. and was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. He is to be arraigned Monday in San Fernando Municipal Court.
