Storm May Drop Up to Inch of Rain on County

Another powerful storm will reach Ventura County today, and forecasters predict it will drop up to an inch of rain on most cities.
There is an 80% to 100% chance of rain today, which is expected to turn into intermittent showers and thunderstorms later in the day.
A flash-flood watch is also in effect through Monday for the county’s burn areas, including the site of December’s Ranch fire in Upper Ojai.
High temperatures will be in the 50s, and lows will dip into the 40s.
“It will be a repeat from what we had before,” said Bruce Rockwell, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Oxnard, referring to a thunder and lightning storm that arrived late Friday and dumped about a quarter-inch of rain on the county.
Oxnard reported 0.28 of an inch of rain Friday night, and 0.22 of an inch was reported at Point Mugu. Spotty power outages were reported throughout the county that evening.
Snow could fall at elevations as low as 3,000 feet in Ventura County by Monday morning. The current snow level is at 6,000 feet.
Monday is expected to be partly cloudy but dry, Rockwell said.
