Firecracker Factory Blast Kills 33 in China

An explosion in an unlicensed firecracker factory in eastern China killed 33 people and injured 10 others, two seriously, state media said.

The explosion ripped through the workshop in a village outside Pingxiang on Saturday morning, the official New China News Agency reported.

The report said that the factory, owned by two farmers, did not have a license and that the cause of the explosion was under investigation.
