Spencer George to Play Soccer for Harvard

Santa Margarita High midfielder Spencer George, a two-time first team All-County selection, will play his college soccer at Harvard, according to his coach, Curt Bauer.
George, who had 21 goals and 28 assists for the Division III champion Eagles and was the most valuable player of two all-star games, picked Harvard over UCLA, which didn’t recruit him until recently.
“I think it was a case of Spencer wanting to be wanted,” Bauer said. “I think he felt he was wanted at Harvard.”
George’s brother, Seth, was an All-American at UCLA and now plays for the Galaxy.
