* Re “GOP Should Apologize for Impeachment, Clinton Says,” Oct. 31: The Republicans were clearly attempting a coup d’etat when they impeached President Clinton over a trivial sex scandal. Anyone who was paying attention in 1992 knew that he was a womanizer, but we weren’t voting for pope. So the effort to overthrow the results of the presidential election was certainly an abuse of power--as are the successful efforts to block Clinton’s appointments to the federal judiciary. Until the Republicans apologize, I won’t be voting for a single one. (P.S. I voted for W’s dad in ’88.)
