Buena Undefeated Again in Channel League, 54-7

Buena High cruised to its fourth consecutive Channel League title and second consecutive unbeaten league season by defeating Santa Barbara, 54-7, on Thursday night at Ventura High.
The Bulldogs (8-2, 4-0 in league play) scored 34 consecutive points in the first quarter. Freddy Keiaho rushed for four touchdowns in the quarter on runs of 76, six, 44, and three yards.
Keiaho, a senior tailback, finished with 189 yards in nine carries and was removed after one carry for two yards in the second quarter.
Andrew Paulson completed six of six passes for 102 yards and two touchdowns. Paulson threw a 29-yard scoring pass to Garrett Oltz in the first quarter and completed the Bulldogs’ scoring with a nine-yard strike to tight end Asa Hagy late in the third quarter.
The Bulldogs held the Dons (2-8, 1-3) to 132 yards.
Robert Ortega, Ryan Cobos, Mike Peckfelder and Jake Scott intercepted passes for Buena. Peckfelder, a linebacker, returned his interception 83 yards for a touchdown.
Santa Barbara scored with 6:38 to play on a seven-yard pass from Matthew Huff to Jarren Kauka.
