In other Championship Division first-round playoff games:
Crenshaw 44, South Gate 7--Running back Terrence Whitehead scored on a 60-yard run and a six-yard pass from quarterback Devin Hollins, who also rushed for two touchdowns as the top-seeded Cougars (11-0) overpowered South Gate (5-5-1) at Crenshaw.
Sylmar 42, Van Nuys Grant 7--The second-seeded Spartans (10-0) gained 497 yards in the victory at home.
Fullback Isidro Medina rushed for 153 yards and scored two touchdowns in the second quarter.
Granada Hills 30, Westchester 12--Bobby Baca passed for two touchdowns and Robert Ortega rushed for 84 yards and one score to help the Highlanders (8-3) upset the third-seeded Comets (8-3) at Westchester.
Westchester trailed, 16-0, at halftime but pulled to within 16-12 on two third-quarter touchdown runs by quarterback Jason Benson.
Joey Rodriguez of Granada Hills scored on a two-yard run with eight minutes left and Baca completed a 12-yard touchdown pass to Guillermo Garcia with just under four minutes left.
Van Nuys Birmingham 53, Palisades 47--The Patriots (10-1) scored on six of nine second-half possessions to erase a 20-6 halftime deficit.
San Pedro 14, Jefferson 11--Offensive lineman Arthur Vasconcelos scored the game-winning touchdown for the Pirates (8-3) when he recovered a fumble in the end zone with 4:09 left at San Pedro.
