Peter Belden
Newport Harbor, Water Polo
Belden was the dominant force at both ends of the pool in top-seeded Newport Harbor’s 15-9 victory over third-seeded Foothill in the Southern Section Division I championship Wednesday. The senior scored four goals on six shots, had four assists, three steals and won all four sprints. Belden opened the game with a four-meter penalty shot that sparked the Sailors to a 10-5 halftime lead.

Dana Hills, Cross-Country
The sophomore finished sixth at the Division I state championships in 15 minutes 32 seconds on the 3.1-mile course.

Corona del Mar, Water Polo
He had five goals and six assists, and held University’s Ted Peck to one goal, as the Sea Kings won the Division II title.
Ligaya Lange
St. Margaret’s, Cross-Country
The St. Margaret’s senior finished fifth in the Division V state championship race in Fresno on Saturday. Her time of 19 minutes 18 seconds on the 3.1- mile course helped
lead the Tartans to a sixth-place finish in the team standings. Lange, who didn’t begin running cross-country until her sophomore year, made a big improvement over her time at the event last season, when she finished in 13th place with a time of 19:54.

Corona del Mar, Cross-Country
Helped Sea Kings defend their Division IV state title. Quinlan recorded the fastest time for Corona del Mar: 19:22.
* Carling Cho
Dana Hills, Golf
Finished third in Southern Section individual finals Tuesday when she made a par on the second hole of a playoff.
