Planning commissioners voted Wednesday to approve a permit to operate an amusement arcade in a space at Westminster Mall. The business will include as many as 60 coin-operated game machines, with no gambling or gambling-type video games allowed.
Commissioners also voted 3 to 2 to approve a plan for a day-care center. The Westminster Christian Assembly church plans to run the center out of a single-family residence at 9552 Belty Circle, which is adjacent to the church. The center could accommodate as many as 24 children, from infant to 3 years of age, and the business hours would be from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Commissioners Al Krippner and Andy Quach voted against the item.
