One down, two to go.
Westlake socked it to Buena on Friday, 34-13, but its treacherous schedule continues Saturday at Clovis West.
Clovis West, the only team to defeat Westlake last season, is ranked No. 16 in the state poll, one spot ahead of the Warriors.
Clovis West dominated Westlake last year in a 15-0 victory, intercepting five passes and allowing 37 yards rushing.
Will this year’s outcome be different?
“Clovis West definitely has all our respect,” said receiver Ryan Foltz, who scored three touchdowns against Buena. “I guarantee you it’ll be a good one.”
Westlake’s third game is against Hart, ranked No. 3 in the state.

Think Buena misses Kyle Loughman?
As evidenced during their loss to Westlake, the Bulldogs are having trouble replacing Loughman, a freshman at Brown University.
Starter Paul Johnsonbaugh, a converted linebacker, completed seven of 19 passes with two interceptions.
Andrew Paulson was sharper, completing eight of 12 passes for 75 yards and a touchdown in the second half. Paulson, a junior, might start Friday against Rio Mesa.
“We’re going to take a real hard look at that this week,” said Buena Coach Rick Scott. “I’m going to let them compete a little bit and I also want to put Johnsonbaugh back on defense. We’re not as good there as I thought we would be right now.”
