Rosemary McIlvaine; Ventura Homemaker

Rosemary McIlvaine, a Ventura homemaker, died Sept. 14 in a Ventura convalescent hospital after a brief illness. She was 84.
She was born on Jan. 25, 1916, in Greensburg, Pa., and lived there until moving to Ventura 45 years ago.
McIlvaine was a wife and mother who loved gardening, working crossword puzzles and painting. Friends and family members said she was also a very good cook. She attended Community Presbyterian Church in Ventura.
McIlvaine is survived by a son, Earl of Oxnard, brothers Robert Leasure of Florida and Walter Leasure of Pennsylvania, and a sister, Elizabeth Lydic of Georgia. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl L. McIlvaine, three brothers and a sister.
Memorial services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday at Community Presbyterian Church in Ventura with the Rev. Mark Patterson officiating.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Ted Mayr Funeral Home in Ventura.
