The City Council on Tuesday honored 30-year employee Karen Morey with a proclamation commending her years of service. Morey, chosen La Palma Employee of the Year last year, is retiring as a dispatcher this week. She helped develop the city’s Dispatcher/Records Standard Operating Procedure and write the Police Department’s 300-page Report Writing Manual, which has been used as a model for other police departments.
